The Pupil Premium is allocated to the Academy to support children from low-income families who were known to be eligible for free school meals, and children who had been looked after continuously for more than six months.
Eligibility for the Pupil Premium for 2012–13 was extended to pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever6 Free School Meals measure).
The Academy also receives funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and a smaller amount for the children of service personnel.
During the financial year 2012/2013 the Academy received £177,511 (as at 30 April 2013) in addition to our main school budget and we have used it in a variety of ways to tackle disadvantage in order to raise achievement and improve outcomes for pupils.
The pupil premium allocation this financial year is pending.
