Your Child's Curriculum
The Academy offers a broad and engaging curriculum, which is underpinned by our two specialisms of the Built Environment and the Performing Arts.
The curriculum will be built on strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and ICT. It will encourage creativity, teamwork, independent thought and confidence.
Pupils will feel fully supported by our staff and at the same time will be encouraged to plan their own work, organise their own time and explore their own ways of learning and doing.
All pupils will study English, Maths, Science and ICT, and these subjects will be linked thematically through projects that connect all that they do.
Our pupils will be able to experience a wide range of different learning with a focus on Citizenship, Careers, Enterprise and Healthy Lifestyles. We aim to raise our pupils’ aspirations and foster in them the more reflective attributes of empathy, tolerance and understanding.
The Principal, Guy Hutchence, his staff and sponsors are looking forward to September 2010 and the opportunity to provide a rewarding experience for the children of our new Academy.
