About the East Manchester Academy

Through our core principles of inclusion, respect and valuing education, we will develop our students into happy, well-rounded and educated young people with the desire and drive to succeed. We will ensure that each and every student is given the very best opportunities needed to achieve his or her personal best and to flourish in and contribute positively to our global society.

The Academy will provide an excellent standard of education through the appointment of high calibre and proven teaching staff, an innovative and engaging curriculum, state of the art technology and through its inclusive, international learning environment.

We work hard to ensure the transition from primary school to the Academy is as seamless and positive as possible for all year 7 students who join us. We have developed partnerships with local primary schools and will provide regular transition workshops for Year 3 – 6 primary pupils throughout the year, meet with prospective parents and carers, and work collaboratively to ensure pupils have the very best of starts to their secondary careers.

In November 2011 Ofsted described The East Manchester Academy as making 'good progress towards raising standards'. To read Ofsted's letter to the Academy please click below.
